Canning 103 – Tomato Products 8-6

For the home gardener, learning to can tomatoes is a much needed skill. Canning tomatoes and tomato-based products is a excellent way to enjoy your harvest long after the growing season is done. In this class we will teach safe canning practices and then we will get hands-on in the kitchen. Students will prepare a tomato-based recipe, process this recipe using the water-bath canning method and take home a jar of a freshly canned tomato product made in class.

Minimum Age: 10 (must be accompanied by adult if under 18)
