Hands in Harmony: Crafting the Perfect Protection For Dry Hands

In the midst of all the farm and soap-making madness that we do here at the Country Goods USA farm, our hands are on a constant rinse-repeat cycle.Hand washing is synonymous with dryness and last year Heather went on a quest for a very specific hand cream. She was searching for a hand cream that would moisturize while protecting the hands and would also hang around after every wash. She also wanted something that did not leave greasy fingerprints everywhere. We quickly found that such a product did not exist. So she gathered some very unique ingredients and got to formulating.

The end result: “Hand Repair Butter” – one of the most unique hand creams you will ever try.

In the spotlight of Hand Repair Butter, three remarkable ingredients take center stage, each with its own set of superhero qualities. First and foremost, there’s capuacu butter – a moisturizing powerhouse renowned for its exceptional ability to penetrate deeply into the skin. Derived from the seeds of the Capuacu tree, this ingredient delivers a hydration boost comparable to a refreshing gulp of water, addressing the needs of even the most parched hands. Moving on to jojoba oil, our second star, we’ve harnessed its nutritional richness to create a hand butter that goes beyond the ordinary. Packed with vitamins and minerals, jojoba oil nourishes and revitalizes, leaving hands not just moisturized but visibly smoother and healthier.

And then comes lanolin, our third key player in this skincare symphony. Extracted from sheep’s wool, lanolin takes on the role of a guardian, forming a protective barrier on the skin’s surface. This barrier not only seals in the goodness of capuacu butter and jojoba oil but also shields your hands from external aggressors, ensuring a lasting softness. For those battling persistent dry skin, Hand Repair Butter emerges as a beacon of relief.

The secret ingredient that elevates this special butter to new heights is stearic acid. Sourced from natural fatty acids, stearic acid is responsible for the hardness factor in oils such as cocoa butter, coconut oil and shea butter.
It plays a dual role in our Hand Repair Butter – not only enhancing the  luxurious texture with a velvety touch but also contributing to the longevity of its moisturizing effects.

When stearic acid is isolated and used in it’s pure form it not only enhances the texture of Hand Repair Butter, giving it a velvety, luxurious feel, but it also plays a key role in maintaining the skin’s moisture barrier.

This means your hands not only get a surge of hydration from capuacu butter and jojoba oil but also have a fortified defense against dryness and environmental stressors. The end result: a hand cream that goes on thick and rich but dries to a powdery finish. It has all the benefits of a butter but not of the greasy aftermath.

Together with capuacu butter, jojoba oil, and lanolin, stearic acid transforms Hand Repair Butter into a comprehensive hand care solution, blending the best of nature and science for enduring skin softness.

Dues to its low melt point, Hand Repair Butter is only produced in the Winter months. For the Summer months, we recommend it’s counterpart: Nurture Hands which is our Summer Formula.
